Memory Verses

I have felt the Holy Spirit leading me to memorize Bible verses focusing on my mouth. Specifically, what words come out of them for obvious reasons and because I am trying to lose weight, what goes into it.  Does anyone else have trouble with your mouth?

I love the Word of God and I desperately want to apply it to every area of my life.  So for the next several weeks my Scripture memorization will be all about using my mouth wisely.  My next verse isn't really about what goes in or comes out, but it fits perfectly with the theme.  It is all about consuming myself with God.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him." Psalm 34:8

Lord, help us to learn Your Word, and to hide it in our hearts.  Help us to apply it to every area of our lives.

My mouth seems to constantly be getting me in trouble. Maybe I could just have Greg wire it closed. That would work!!

Cindy,

You are not alone. My mouth gets me in trouble all time! LOL at what Leah wrote about having hers wired closed! So funny!

I love the scripture you are memorizing! It's one I get to see everyday because we have it framed and hanging in our kitchen. :)

Blessings to you,
Sharon

Cindy,
My friends tell me that I do not "speak up" for myself. Often I have spoken without thinking first. This type of "speaking up" always leads me to anger and later regret.
Thank you for such an encouraging post. God be with you in your thoughts and your words.
God bless you and keep you in His gentle care.
In Christ's Love,
Bren

Cindy! I'd been looking at your blog when I saw this verse. I was looking for a verse and your verse just kinda popped out! Thank you for sharing it with me -- and for helping me choose a verse for Siesta Scripture! :)

I memorized Psalm 19:14 for the second block of the LPM memory verse group. I cannot tell you how many times in a day it comes to mind. It's a good one for controlling my mouth (and attitude)

'Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.'

Umm, unfortunately, yes. My comments on my memory verse this week were about some things that I said and then felt prompted to apologize for Cindy.

I love your verse and tender prayer Cindy. I humbly agree - Amen!

Yes, my mouth needs controlling for sure--for eating and speaking, even maybe the expressions my mouth makes when I'm frustrated or angry.

Writing His Word upon my heart does indeed change my countenance and my moments and days, as well.

Have a great day!
Holly

Yes. Sometimes things come out of my mouth which I really regret. And I have a hard time forgetting the stupid things I've said.
Seems I would do better to just keep it closed...
I'm working at letting more blessing come out!
