Patience is a virtue. It is also included in the fruit of the Spirit. Alas, today I am not very virtuous and someone has plucked it from my fruit bowl!
My daughter and I are in San Antonio at my sisters and we are waiting on a television to be delivered. We have been waiting since 8:00 a.m. this morning. It is now 3:36 p.m. to be precise. Apparently the delivery guys do not care that we had plans. Sharon had to leave to pick up her son Connor from school. My daughter saw an opportunity to get out of the house. Someone had to stay behind. I am that someone.
Today really hasn't been that bad. Sharon has baked yummy treats all day long and I sat on the couch and smelled them. I even got to lick the bowl. And I spent some much needed time in Bible Study.
Proverbs 19:11 says that a man's wisdom gives him patience. God pointed out to me that my impatience sometimes impedes God's plan for me. I want to help God out, hurry things along. That sometimes I just need to patiently wait on His timing. Sometimes waiting on God is just what I need to show me that God is always on time. And when I am impatient it hinders my ability to be still and know God and hear His voice. I needed this lesson in patience today.
Life is Good,
Cindy

I'm relating to this post too.... Ahhhh, patience, I wish I could say I had some, but often, I don't. I think of the patience displayed by Noah, Hannah, Samuel, measured in years or decades, and how I get anxious waiting hours or days for something. Great thoughts Cindy!
I wanted to take the time to thank you for visiting blog. I saw that you added me to your "followers" list...and I want you to know how honored and grateful to have connected in this way~ I count it a privilege that you visit me.
God Bless!
Have a great Sunday!!!

Hi Cindy, Thank you for my Merry Christmas you left earlier today. And a hearty Merry Christmas to you.
I've found out ~ the hard way ~ that having patience is truly not just a virtue but it is also a necessity in this life. I always prided myself in doing things "as soon as possible" ~ and oh the pain and regret I could have been spared if I had just waited on the Lord. I know I have war wounds to prove the path I've been on. It took a long time to learn the lessons as God kept trying my reins. I can still get impatient here and there ~ but I've been through the "school of hard knocks" so many times I'm not quite as apt to go that path as I used to. Today was my favorite of days ~ Christmas Eve Eve ~ and with all I had to accomplish ~ sitting and waiting for a delivery guy would have been hard for me too. Who knows what you were spared by being safe and warm where you were. Merry Christmas Cindy. I'm looking forward to getting to know you even more in 2009. Blessings ~ Cathryn
