Inconvenience

This morning as I was getting ready to start my day, the power went out. I had important things to do. How in the world could I get ready for my lunch date with an old friend if I could not use my blow dyer. My hair would be flat. So I whined about the inconvenience for several minutes.

And then I prayed for my Father to forgive me for my selfishness. And for constant reminders that my little inconveniences are so trivial. And for Him to break my heart over the plight of the poor and the oppressed.

I can survive without power. There are those who are trying to survive without food and shelter. I can worship the One True God without fear of persecution. There are those who are tortured and killed for doing so. I can buy groceries and put gas in my vehicle. There are those who cannot.

Thank You Lord for putting things in perspective for me.

Life is Good,

Cindy
