Got To Give It Up

I was recently diagnosed with food allergies, specifically to milk, eggs and almonds.  I typically consumed those foods on a daily basis so now  I have to stop and think about what I can and can't eat.  Milk and eggs are in almost everything.   Lactose is present in most medicines as a filler and as a binding agent!  I can't have cream in my coffee.  No cheese or butter.  No cake. (I will probably mourn the loss of this the most!)  No more Chick-fil-A strawberry milkshakes!

I can approach this season in my life in several ways; I can totally ignore the allergy, eat what I want and itch like crazy,  I can totally focus on the foods that I have had to give up and have a woe is me attitude, or I can focus on being thankful that the doctors figured out what was wrong with me and that there are still plenty of foods that I can eat.

Oh Father, help me daily to focus on what  I have, not on what I don't have or what I've had to give up.  I have everything in Jesus.  And He is all that I need.

It would probably help if your friends stopped putting things like Coconut Cheesecake Pie and homemade bread with REAL butter in front of you, huh?

I'll try to do better.

Love you,

Leah

Some things are just too good to pass up and the bread and pie just couldn't be ignored! I didn't eat enough to hurt I promise.

It's kinda the same thing with our spiritual diets, too, isn't it? Some things just aren't good for us, and we have to give them up.

Thankfully, the Lord's nourishment is always for our best - Living Water and Bread of Life.

Be encouraged - I'll bet you adjust to your new diet like a champ!

GOD BLESS!

Hi, Lactaid pills and milk work wonders. Walmart has a brand that is much cheaper than the name brand! You can still have dairy!
